I admire the work of classic old men: Plato, Neitszche, Freud, Jung, Lacan, Kafka, Chekov (others in this category) - the writings, the philosophies, the psychological theories.
What would it be like to have a mind that came up with the collective unconscious - Carl Jung is a G for this one. And that without using cocaine like Freud did.
I am somewhat confident that if I do cocaine and my brain is working at 10x all the time - I can create a time machine. (So, if you are interested in a time machine, perhaps contact me)
I think, all these great ideas came because of no distractions. All they did was think about one thing. All they did was think authentically their whole life.
I used to be proud of being a multitasker. Not a flex. Anyone can do it. Everybody is doing it. Focus and Authenticity is real flex.
But why, every time I think of focusing, I feel like I am asking to exploit my brain. Isn’t that what it is supposed to do? Why do I consider distractions as relaxing when it should be the other way around?
We as a modern, dopamine collecting society have made intellect this foreign thing that is out of our comfort zone, while, in reality, it comes naturally to us. We are spending our energy on consuming so much content when we can use it to think, to create, and to act.
To stop our addiction of consuming, we need self-control and for self-control - loads of Willpower which is limited.
One of my solution to not waste my willpower on stopping these inferior distractions is to use the idea of -
Out of sight, out of mind!
For instance, we have Ben. Ben loves ice cream. It’s his primary dopamine. Currently, Ben is trying to read his book on coyotes. He also loves coyotes and reading. I put a strawberry Haagen Dazs in front of him. Do you think he can resist the ice cream, which will give him immediate gratification? Maybe for some time. But his will power is gonna run out.
Don’t worry about ice cream melting or the little details of the example. Understand my overall meaning.
It’s simple. Lol. Nothing is simple.
Leave the tempting distractions out of your sight, so you can do the meaningful things that fulfill you.
Be kind to yourself even if you gaslight people. I appreciate you.

Awesome, so no immediate gratification, no coke, and no time machines!
Great work Arsh, as now both parties don't believe in immediate gratification. We will make sure to share your this reading to our readers!
